Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

MyLemonCheck ("we," "us") operates mylemoncheck.com, a free informational tool for California consumers. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights — including your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

What we collect

  • Quiz answers: your responses about your vehicle and its repair history, and the resulting Lemon Score.
  • Contact information (only if you submit the form): first name, phone number, email address, and ZIP code.
  • Vehicle information: year, make, and model.
  • Technical data: standard server logs and, if enabled, privacy-respecting site analytics (page views, quiz completion).

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we do not sell personal information for monetary consideration to data brokers.

Why we collect it

  • To compute and show you your Lemon Score.
  • To connect you with participating California lemon law attorneys — this is the core purpose of the service and only happens if you submit the contact form with the consent box checked.
  • To send you the information you requested (such as your "Strengthen Your Case" checklist email).
  • To operate, secure, and improve the site.

Who we share it with

If you submit the contact form, we share your contact information, quiz answers, Lemon Score, and vehicle information with participating, independent California lemon law attorneys or law firms so they can contact you about your vehicle issue. Sharing contact information with law firms in this way may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under the CCPA; you may opt out at any time (see below). We also use service providers to run the site — currently Vercel (hosting), Airtable (data storage), and Resend (email delivery) — who process data on our behalf.

Your California privacy rights

  • Right to know: request a copy of the personal information we have about you.
  • Right to delete: request that we delete your personal information.
  • Right to correct: request that we fix inaccurate information.
  • Right to opt out: opt out of the sharing of your information with law firms.
  • Right to non-discrimination: we will never penalize you for exercising these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@mylemoncheck.com with the subject "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity using the email or phone number you provided and respond within 45 days.

Communications consent

We only contact you — and only allow participating attorneys to contact you — if you check the consent box on the contact form. Consent is not required to use this site. You may opt out of communications at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the caller, or emailing hello@mylemoncheck.com.

Data retention

We retain lead information for as long as needed to operate the service and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the "Last updated" date when we do. Material changes will be noted on this page.

Your Lemon Score is an informational estimate based on your answers — it is not a legal determination, and it does not mean you do or do not have a legal claim. Only a licensed attorney can evaluate your situation. Attorney Advertising. MyLemonCheck may connect you with independent, participating California lemon law attorneys and may be compensated on a flat-fee advertising basis that does not depend on the outcome of any case.
